Gaining your personal licence as easy as PLT

How to get your personal licence

Every thing you need to know about how to get your personal licence. Gaining a personal licence is relatively easy, you will need to attend a one day training course or study at home using an e-learning course. To hold a personal licence you must undertake training on the relevant licensing Act  where you intend to work. There are two licensing Act's to consider;
  1. The Licensing Act 2003 for England and Wales
  2. The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 for Scotland
This website will give you advice how to get your personal licence under both licensing Act's. The personal licence holder qualifications are known as;
  • The Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) level 2 - England and Wales
  • The Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH) level 5 - Scotland
Once you have completed your training course and taken your exam you can then apply for your personal licence.
